    Session Date: November 13th, 2025

(Purple text is Mythic rolls/questions, Dark red is D&D 5E rolls)

Scene 2: Finding the Next Adventure

    —-

d10 roll vs Chaos Factor: 5 vs 5 – Altered Scene

Eladrin Season Change for Trineth: Winter, gained proficiency in herbalism kit, disguise kit. Trineth’s hair changes to a stark white as their skin turns to a pale, dusky light gray. Their eyeliner changes to teardrop shapes with heavy black around the eyes.

Morning arrives as I stir from my meditation under the awning of an abandoned shack on the edge of town, close by to the half-orc’s home. I walk back to the house, but find the door locked and the house empty. The half-orc must’ve taken his daughter to a temple, not wanting my help anymore. Can’t say I blame him.

I wander to see what there is to do next.

(“Is there anything different happening in town?” – Yes) (suffering, support)

There is a woman in the middle of town crying and sobbing as she wanders aimlessly, asking anyone who passes for help. (modern, petite) She is a halfling with long blonde hair pulled into a ponytail, her clothes are of a standard commoner. She looks to be a seamstress.

I approach the woman and ask what’s wrong. She grasps my wrist, sobbing about something to do with her husband. I ask what’s wrong she means and through her tearful voice, she proclaims that – (“Is the situation the same as the one on the job board about the woman and her husband?” – Yes) – her husband had wrecked her home two nights ago and has vanished. She pleads for any help as she has yet to find something that will do anything. The local guards seem too preoccupied with goblin attacks to bother.

I nod and agree to help her, offering a piece of cloth from my backpack to wipe her eyes and nose. With the destruction of the home and the disappearance at night, I feel this may be a case of lycanthropy. I tell the woman to lead me to her cottage.

Scene End – add halfling woman to list, decrease CF by 1

    —-

Scene 3 – Disaster at Home

    —-

    d10 vs CF – 1 vs 4 – Altered Scene

(“Is there someone at the house?” – Yes, “Is it the husband?” – Exceptional No) (strong, casual)

As the halfling woman and I arrive at the cottage in the eastern outskirts of town, a strong-looking (different, scented) centaur druid stands in front. She looks to be (odd, wild) doing some kind of ritual on the home, painting symbols with mud onto the house’s front doorway.

The halfling woman screeches out about ruining her home, jumping up to try swatting the centaur’s hands. Though her short stature just means she swats at air instead.

“Stop, ma’am. Your home is already a mess anyways,” the centaur druid huffs as she lowers down to grab more mud. The halfling woman swats the mud out of her hand in retaliation and straight into the centaur’s face, splatting it onto her nose and forehead. The aggravated halfling huffs with her shoulders up as she turns and stomps inside the house.

As the centaur wipes the mud off her face, I approach her. I tell her my name and ask what hers is (Syllables: Ah, Bee). She says her name is Abby. She is a Circle of Spores druid that happened to be passing through when she felt a strange, natural energy coming from this home. She is using a druidic incantation to see if she could find the source.

Abby has long brown hair with one side fully braided while the other is loose and wild. She has a square face and rugged features with a stocky build. She wears a set of leather armor with leaves and mushrooms decorating the shoulders and chest. Her horse half is a darker chestnut with various bags where a saddle would be on the common horse. A scimitar hangs from her hip and a yew staff sits in leather straps on her back.

I asked if she needed help and told her what the halfling woman said to me.

Charisma Check (Adv., DC 10): 13 – Pass)

She smiles and notes my eladrin features, stating she’d appreciate the help. She says the mud divination is to Detect Disease. She asks if I know Detect Magic.

I do and so she directs me indoors to cast the spell. I walk inside and see a living area and kitchen that are trashed and destroyed. Chairs are broken, pottery has been knocked over and smashed. The house is a complete mess. The halfling woman stands in the kitchen, sobbing again as she picks up some broken pottery.

Perception Check (DC 13) – 2+2 – Fail) Beyond the broken furniture, nothing looks strange or signifies cause.

I cast Detect Magic – (“Does anything have a magical presence in the home?” – Yes) (soft, personal) I wander around the house and notice the bed in the main bedroom, which is mostly unbroken, has a light shimmer of magic residue on the top on one side of the bed.

Perception Check (DC 13) – 14 – Pass. I look closer at the bed and notice a small patch of hair stuck in the bed frame near the side of the bed that is glowing. I grab it. It doesn’t feel like hair from a humanoid, it feels like fur from an animal.

I walk back into the main room and see Abby walk in the front door, shaking her head to denote her spell didn’t work. I walk up to her and show her the patch of hair I found. I also inform her of the magic residue on the bed.

(“Does Abby know what the fur is?” – No)

Abby rolls the fur in her hand, but she shakes her head and says she doesn’t recognize it. I look towards the halfling woman and walk to her, asking her if it’s okay to ask some questions.

She nods solemnly. (“Does the halfling know about any mood changes or patterns from her husband?” – Exceptional Yes)

I ask her about anything she has seen be off about her husband. She thinks for a second and notes that yes, she has. (frantic, possessions) The halfling states her husband has been acting very frantically. Many of his personal possessions he had normally kept up with were getting lost, like a fishing pole and his jacket. I ask when her husband went missing, she states late at night about two nights ago. She was woken up by the sound of breaking furniture, but once she was up, her husband was gone. I asked about the husband’s appearance, she says he is (neat, rustic) a wood elf with brunette hair and of average height.

I thank her for her answers and tell her we will do our best to find her husband. I turn to Abby. “What’s the plan?” I ask. “Should we wait for the husband to return, maybe?”

“No. If he hasn’t returned by now, with the way presumably he thrashed the house, I don’t expect a return. I say we hunt for him, find a trace somewhere outside the house,” Abby states.

    Session End

  • Whispers in the Dust – Session 1 & 2: Scene 1

    Session Dates: October 11th & 12th, 2025

(Purple text is Mythic rolls/questions, Dark red is D&D 5E rolls)

    Scene 1: Child’s Nightmares

    —-

d10 roll vs Chaos Factor: 9 vs 4 – Expected Scene

I arrive at Wellspring after about 15 minutes of walking. (cluttered, mobile) It’s a small town that serves as a farming center for its local region of the Eldeen Reaches. Many traders pass through. It’s a bit rough and tumble but has decent folks.

Wellspring has a tavern and a nearby job board. I walk up to the job board to see if anything could lead to a source of info about the hostile fey.

(Fate – “Is anything in the job board related to the fey?” – Yes – quaint, familiar)

I see one that is offered by a (playful, active) young girl. The crude but cute writing reads that she fears that an evil fairy is giving her nightmares. Her home is near the south border of the village.

The other quests on the job board include: (tension, rough, cautious, large) an escort job for a large shipment of farm goods, (average, emotional, violent, unexpected) a woman’s husband has disappeared in the night along with her home getting wrecked in the process, and (aggressive, average, threaten, battle) nearby goblins have raided a food storage and the owner wants someone to slay them.

I take the paper for the fey nightmares and make my way to the girl’s home.

I head south to the house the note mentions. I arrive at the home where a man stands outside (curious, equipped, heavy, attractive). He is a large Half-Orc, with scars outlining his sharp jawlines, dark skin with very short black hair, and a strong muscular build. He has a sword on his hip but does not wear armor, instead just wearing simple commoner clothes.

    Charisma Check (DC 7): 5+1 – Fail

I approach with a smile and a hello, but the half-orc does not change his grimace. He asks what I want. I state that I am here about a girl’s note about her nightmares. He nods, stating that it is his daughter and asks in a gruff tone what I can do. I state I am an Eladrin, and can help specifically with the nightmares if they are being caused by fey.

The man frowns, clearly wearing of my fey heritage and worried I’d worsen the problem. Persuasion (DC 6): 14-1 – Success. I detail that I have my own issues with fey. I persuade him to trust me, as I would never want to cause more harm to his daughter.

He grimaces for a moment but then softens his face as he agrees to my help. He motions for me to come inside his home. I step inside to find the girl playing with a small plushie on the floor of the living area. (vocal, peaceful, strange, interesting) She looks to be a full Orc; small tusks peak out over her top lip, her skin is dusk grey and a head of short black hair. She looks to be about 5 years old.

She looks up and smiles as I kneel down, her eyes brightly gazing at the autumn leaves in my hair. “Forest princess!” she exclaims, standing up with an owlbear stuffie tight in her arms. I chuckle and smile as I tell her I’m here to help with her nightmares. I ask if it would be okay for her to describe them. Persuasion (DC 8): 6-1 – Fail

She shakes her head, not wanting to share as her smile turns to a frown. I reassure her that’s okay, she doesn’t have to. I rise and turn to her father, asking if I can check her room. He agrees and points to her room doorway.

I cast Detect Magic. I walk into her room and the pillows of her bed glow a faint blue with magic residue. I relay to the father there is magic traces here on her bed. Arcana Check (DC 8) – 16+3 – Success. I recognize the magic as the work of fey, specifically that of a Night Hag.

The father asks what can be done. I detail that either we find a cleric that can administer a protection spell or I find and kill the night hag. I think we should do both. The father can find a cleric and I can wait till night to track the hag.

The father agrees and he decides to find a cleric tomorrow. I ask if I can wait in their home. Persuasion (Advantage, DC 5): 11.

They agree and I sit in the living area with the child while the father does chores and readies for the night. We spend the night of her talking about her stuffies as she brings multiple out of her room. They are handmade by her father. There is an owlbear (her favorite), a dog, a cat, and a dinosaur. As she talks and I entertain her, her blue eyes start to grow heavy and she eventually falls asleep. Her father picks her up and takes her to bed before going to bed himself.

(Fate – “Do the fey arrive in more than four hours?” – Yes)

I rest for 4 hours in my fey trance, curling up into a cross-legged sit on their living area floor.

(Fate – “Do the fey arrive at all?” – Yes, Random Event – PC Negative, weather – wind, noisy)

The wind whips outside against the house’s wooden walls as it starts to rain. The noise makes it tough to hear any sounds during my meditation. I decide at the fifth hour to exit my meditation.

Perception (DC 5): 1+2. I look around the house but the darkness caused by the rain clouds made it difficult to see anything.

(Fate – “Are the fey still there?” – Exceptional No)

Another hour passes and eventually the orc child jolts awake in her bed, immediately starting to cry. I spring up and walk to her room, kneeling next to her bed to comfort her. I ask what’s wrong and what did she see. Persuasion (Disadvantage, DC 7): 1-1 – Fail.

She refuses to answer and cries for her father. After a few moments, her father comes in and holds her in his arms. He says nothing to me except give a grimace as he leaves to his room with the girl in his arms.

I shake my head and rub my temples, confused as to how I missed the fey. I decide to open the window in her room, letting in a cold wind and rain as I crawl out of the window into the night. I close it behind me.

I cast Detect Magic. Near the window’s bottom edge is more magic residue. Arcana (DC 6): 5+3. I can tell it’s from the fey. It’s fresh as the glow is bright.

(Fate – “Is there a trail?” – No) The fey however left no trail beyond the window sill.

Perception Check (Disadvantage, DC 6): 10+2 – Success) I see some slight movement in the tree like a few yards out from the house. I saunter my way through the mud and brush to see what it is.

(Fate – “ Is it the fey?” – Exceptional No) Instead it is a (strong, insect-like) rust monster!

(“Does it see me?” – Ex. No) The rust monster looks to be busy chewing on a rusty piece of junk metal. I decide to get rid of the monster, despite not being my target.

Roll Initiative (Adv) – Trineth 1st, Rust Monster 2nd

    Rust Monster – 18 HP – 14 AC

Rust Monster (Monster Manual (2014), Wizards of the Coast)

The rust monster screeches then plops to the ground with a thud into the muddy dirt, its body of rust starting to quickly decay.

I catch my breath as I sheathe my mace, rust collecting on its edges. I look around in hopes I see anything else.

    Perception Check (Disadv., DC 7) – 4+2 – Fail

I curse the air as I see nothing else through the rain and trees. Tears form in my eyes, knowing the closest lead I have is gone.

I walk back to the house defeated. I’ll inform the father in the morning about where to go for a cleric’s protection, as my studies taught me of some nearby temples.

Scene End – Add Night Hag to list, increase Chaos Factor by 1

  • Whispers in the Dust – Session 1: Opening Scene

    Session Date: October 11th, 2025

(Purple text is Mythic rolls/questions, Dark red is D&D 5E rolls)

    Opening Scene

    —-

    Created using Mythic 4W Method

    Who – (reassuring, triumphant)

    What – (separate, safety)

    Where – (frightening, personal)

    Why – (flee, interior)

Trineth’s home is attacked by hostile fey. Their mother, Amber, urges them to leave the plane through a nearby manifest zone. Trineth, saddened but dutiful to their mother, obeys and makes for the portal.

“I promise I’ll be okay. They won’t harm me, I promise.”

Amber’s eyes gleam as she reassures me, gripping my arm tight. “But they may hurt you. You need to go. To the Material Plane.”

Outside, a magical dance of flame, darkness and anger surrounded our home. The Winter Court’s current icy coverage over the Moonlit Vale is barely visible. The air was choked with smoke and the smell of burning foliage. I’ve gathered my things and give my mother one last firm hug. I want to stay, want to protect her, but know I’d cause more harm if I did. I eventually leave home and start making my way to the nearby manifest zone. It appeared just two years ago and still remains. It resides over a small stream of magical water about 10 minutes from our home.

(Fate Question – “Are there any hostile fey nearby?” – Yes) (foolish, violent) (“Do they see me?” – Exceptional No)

I spot two winged fey in the distance, causing wild destruction with fire magic as they cackle to themselves. In their wild destruction, the fey don’t notice me and my movement at all.

    Stealth Check (Advantage – DC 10): 18 + 0 – Success

I sneak past the flailing fey and make my way down to the stream. I wade through the brush till I reach the water near the bottom of a hill. The magical water hums with concerned tension and emotional confusion.

    Perception Check to See Portal (DC 10): 14 + 2 – Success

I see the shimmer of the edges of the manifest zone, lining the trees and the water. As I walk over the stream and through the manifest zone, the setting around me turns to the drab and basic foliage of Eberron. The vibrant colors and magical foliage of Thelanis disappears. The water turns to a pale, dirty white from its once vibrant, shimmering blue. I’ve arrived at the water stream that’s south of a small farming town I’ve visited a couple times before, named Wellspring.

(Fate Question – “Does the portal stay open?” – No)

The manifest zone suddenly closes behind me. Not in a big flash. Not with a boom. Just a whisper, a change in the wind. The manifest zone that was the one connection you knew to your home is gone forever.

My emotions flood my mind now that the adrenaline from my escape has faded. I begin to cry. Why did the fey attack? Is it what took father years ago, is that why mother was sure she’d be safe? I wipe the tears from my eyes as I trod my way up and out of the stream, planning to head to Wellspring. I must find another portal or an answer in the material plane. There has to be something or someone to explain this, or a portal that’s still open.

    Opening Scene Ends

End of Scene Bookkeeping: Added Hostile Fey to Character List, added goal “Find out why the fey took Amber” to Threads, decreased Chaos Factor by 1.

    —-

    Main Player Character

    Name: Trineth (he/they)

    Race: Eladrin

    Age: 110

    Height: 6’3”

    Class: Twilight Cleric

    Background: Sage

Info: Trineth is an Eladrin from the plane of Thelanis, the Faerie Court. They have gold eyes, olive skin, and prefer to be in their Autumn form where they have brunette hair mixed with rustic leaves. Their makeup changes with each seasonal form, with the Autumn form having dark blocky eyeliner and a vertical lip line. Trineth always wears large dangling earrings that are in the shape of a crescent moon.

Trineth is quiet and shy. They often struggle with social cues. Their ideals are to save anyone they can and protect the ones they care for. Their bond is with nature, animals, and the natural world. Their flaws are that they are hard to get to know, a people-pleaser, and stubborn.

Born to their father Zorvis and their mother Amber, Trineth was largely raised by their mother. Their father Zorvis was stolen away by an unknown force when Trineth was very young. Trineth and their mother lived in a small simple home in the Moonlit Vale, as a member of the Court of Autumn but not as active members of the court.

Because of their isolated upbringing, Trineth largely grew up without many friends. Trineth learned about arcana and history from an abandoned library that happened to be connected to a temporary Thelanis manifest zone on the material plane of Eberron. During this period of learning, Trineth learned and gained a calling to the Sovereign Host deity Dol Arrah. This led to them studying to be a Twilight Cleric. Trineth mostly practices independently. They also provide lip service to the Traveler on occasion.

    —-

    World & Main Story Info

The campaign is set in Eberron. Thelanis, particularly the Moonlight Vale and the seasonal Faerie Courts, serves as a major part of it.

The story focuses on the disappearances of Trineth’s parents and why a group of fey are attacking other fey in the Moonlit Vale. Is it an attack from a villainous group of fey, or an attack from a fellow court?

Meanwhile, tensions grow stronger between the nations of Eldeen Reaches and Aundair. Sabotage and a raise of taxes from Aundair’s side of the border have fostered resentment from Eldeen. The Wardens of the Woods druids and those they protect refuse to back down on their claim of the land. Aundair won’t declare war because of the Treaty of Thronehold and the Mourning, but they are doing everything they can to try to wear Eldeen Reaches down in hopes they can take control without true conflict.

The center of this conflict is in Varna, the seat of House Vadalis, who still maintains strong ties to Aundair. Reports have been made of a pro-Aundair movement with support from Vadalis itself rising up from Varna.

The fey also have a connection to Eldeen Reaches, even if they often don’t associate themselves with the conflicts of Eberron. If Aundair took over, how would they respond? Is the attack in their own courts connected to any of this?
